LESLEY BOTHWELL »
Lesley is the nurseries owner and was born and raised in Barnton. Lesley completed her NNEB qualification immediately following school and, after some years in community work, opened her first nursery in 1984; the first of its kind in Edinburgh. Lesley has a keen interest in early education and by popular demand of the clients of the time, she enjoyed establishing a small pre prep school in Goldenacre in 1988. Though the school, “New Town Prep”, closed down due to lack of physical amenity, it remains a fond memory for the teachers and pupils who attended, and happily, some of the original personnel remain with the nurseries today. Interested in all aspects of child development, Lesley has studied a post graduate course in Child Psychotherapy. She now lives in Fife and is a passionate horse breeder and keen horse woman. Her son studies dentistry in London.
JOANNE LAMB »
Joanne is our Admin Manager and was born and raised in the village of Howgate. Leaving school at eighteen Joanne spent 5 years in the Royal Air Force. On leaving the R.A.F Joanne embarked on a career in childcare, she started as a Nursery Assistant and worked her way up to Nursery Manager. Joanne has an SVQ 3 in Childcare and Development, a Level 4 in Advanced Childcare and Management and is a qualified EYCP, Tutor and Assessor. A lifelong learner Joanne is currently in the final phases of her BA Honours in Childhood and Youth Studies. In her spare time Joanne enjoys travel and country pursuits.
MICHELLE MCNAE »
Michelle is our Barnton Nursery Manager and was born in Nuneaton and raised in Stranraer. Michelle studied for childcare qualification and gained her NNEB qualification immediately after leaving school. She started working for Lesley Bothwell Nurseries in 1994, working at the Royal Mile, Buckstone and Barnton and has worked her way up through the ranks from nursery nurse to assistant Manager and on to Manager. Michelle and has supervised and run three of our nurseries over the most recent eight of her seventeen years with us. She met her husband through working alongside his Mum at the nurseries, and they now have two sons aged eight and three who both attended the nurseries!
